The Goddess Oracle : A Way to Wholeness Through the Goddess and Ritual,
by Amy Sophia Marashinsky,
Hrana
Janto.
Wonderful artwork by Janto and interesting mythology and rituals by
Marashinsky.
Callings,
by Gregg Levoy.
This book was an excellent resource. It was wonderful, helpful and
insightful. It took me a long time to read it because I was taking my time
and savoring all he has to say. This book describes what a 'call' might
feel like or how it might manifest in your life. Mr. Levoy is clear about
the costs and benefits of answering, ignoring or turning away from a call.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to understand the nature of a
calling. [Check out his site here:

Acid Plaid: New Scottish Writing, by Harry Ritchie (Ed.)
Fun, excellent -- poetry and prose. Laughed at "Question Number 10,"
by Gordon Legge. It makes me want to look for anything else that Legge
has written.
Cries
of the Spirit : Celebration of Women's Spirituality by Marilyn
Sewell (Editor).
Provocative poetry and prose by women. Focus on the spirit...uplifting,
healing and understanding the wounds of the spirit. This is where I found
Ostriker. She will be on my poetry page.
Fiction
Laurell Hamilton her Anita Blake books are great! I have
found her in the Sci-Fi and the Horror sections. I like her characters.
Anita Blake is a strong woman...and she changes and grows through each
book. Highly recommended.
Hi, How are you today? Ashley MacIsaac:
How could you not love him? Fast-paced, cool kilt-pic on the back!
Christy Moore: I love what he can do with a bodhran. I saw him a few years back (hmmm, actually a decade or so, by now) in concert in Boston. Great show. Good voice, fun songs.
Gospel Oak, Sinead O'Connor: Very mellow version of Sinead. She still has a wonderful voice and I love these songs. I listen to it over and over again.
Mesa Sunrise, Mariam.
Amazing. I was given a copy of the tape a few years back to review
it for a local bookstore. I recently bought the CD. I have used it to help
me sleep as well as for meditation. There is something about the music
that sweeps me away to a very calm place even in the midst of chaos. I
*HIGHLY* recommend this CD. I have given it as gifts to several friends.
Pure Moods
Great compilation of music. Some soothing, some not. Enigma, Enya,
Deep Forest, Jean Michele Jarre, DJ Dado, Mike Oldfield, Adiemus, Jan Hammer,
Ennio Morricone, David Byrne, Sacred Spirits, Angelo Badalamenti, Geoffrey
Oryema, Mark Isham, Michael Nyman, David A. Stewart/Candy Dulfer.
Earth Spirit, R. Carlos Nakai.
I was given a copy of this as a present. I listen to this daily as
well. I saw him in concert a few years ago at Somerville Theater in Massachusetts.
Wonderful.
Dance the Spiral Dance, Ubaka Hill
You must listen to her!! I spent a day in Fall 1998 with Ubaka as part
of the Women's Well Women's Spirituality
Program. She is wonderfully talented and has more energy than most
toddlers I know. I plan to buy both of her CDs as soon as possible. If
you get the chance to take a workshop with her or to buy her music...do
so, you will not be disappointed!
Toward The Within, Dead Can Dance
Love them!! The different languages, the haunting music and lyrics
all combine to be really wonderful.
